OCTOBER 25, 1972 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 7 [girpe]e(8led ; Federg "IKE MUTCH INTEGRITY The Prime Minister places "the integrity of Canada" at the top of his list of election issues. Before you as a voter on October 30th accept this statement, it must be examined. In 1968, the "Just Society" was the slogan. What happened? Surely 450,000 unemployed workers is not a "Just Society", and if re-elected, the Liberal Administration has given no assurance they will correct this problem and further more, they show absolutely no concern that unemployment is contin- ving to rise. The absence of "integrity" of the Trudeau govern- ment is clearly shown when he himself and his finance minister, Mr. Benson, under the excuse of causing inflation, deliberately created a higher level of unemployment. Ask any housewife how effective this scheme was. Statistics Canada (Glove and Mail Sept. 28th) said, "Food which cost $14.47 in August 1972 could have been purchased one year earlier for $13.57." An increase of approximately 7%. These are real issues in Canadian Life and along with many other examples, show the real credibility of the Trudeau Administration. Your local member of this Government does not show up any better in the credibility issue. Over two years ago in Nipigon, a meeting was called to discuss water diversion plans by United States inter- ests. Before over 100 people, Mr. Penner stated by implication that if water did go to the U.S.A, it would be over his dead body. On June 3rd, 1970, the House of Commons was called on to vote on an ammendment to Bill C-144 (Canada Water Act) so * as to ensure Parliamentary approval of any water export. Mr. Penner's vote was against this and helped the Trudeau Government to defeat the am- mendment. Mr. Penner's election material purports to tell how, almost single handed he was able to stop the depredations of American fisherman and hunters flying into Canada, breaking all game laws and depriving local Canadian outfitters of security in their business investments. Note this quote from the front page of the Dryden Observer publication under date of September 28/72 "A Canadian couple remarked after reading Mr. Penner's election material, they were under the impression' that American Sportsmen using planes had been effectively stopped from raiding Canadian Lakes and hunting grounds. This same couple re- ported sighting American Plans on a Canadian Lake. They were able to distinguish markings and numbers and reported them to authorities. Of course there would be no action." end of quote. This quote is not an isolated one and shows how much faith can be put in Mr. Penner's statements. Most voters are completely fed up with the absolute indifference to the people's wishes by Mr. Penner and his colleagues in the Trudeau Adminis- tration.
