HOCKEY TEAM TURKEY SHOOT This weekend the new hockey team for the Lake Superior High School is sponsoring a turkey shoot to raise funds. However, many people have indicat- ed that they do not know what a turkey shoot is. In the arena targets will be placed on the firing range. Ten people will compete for a turkey. Each person will shoot five shells at his own target You do not have to be a marksman to win. There will be two types of targets available. Those who wish to compete on the basis of marks- manship will shoot in a round which has targets for that purpose. The person with the most number of shots closest to the bulls-eye (on a Dominion Stand- ard points basis) will win a turkey. This is the Sharpshooters round. For those of us who are not crack shots another type of round is available. This will be the Wild Turkey round. The ten shooters will fire five shots at a blank piece of white paper. The back of each paper will be divided into squares and in each square will be written a number from 1 to 10. The person whose five shots total the most points will collect their turkey. All you have to do is hit the paper anywhere. If your bullet cuts a line dividing two squares, you will get the value of both squares. We have lots of turkeys so come out and take a crack at this interesting sport. Special rounds are available for the ladies. All ties will shoot again. We provide the guns and shells. Please do not bring your own. We ask you to respect our safety precautions which are designed to protect you. Sorry, according to the legal technecalities, no one under 16 is allowed to shoot unless he or she possess a valid hunters license which he must show. Come out and have fun and get your Thanksgiving turkey.
