Mr. and Mrs. Jim Maxey of Fort Frances have returned home after visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rummery. 0 Miss Anne Marie St. Jean was honoured at a community shower-tea held in St. John's Anglican Church hall on August 27th, when she was assisted in receiving by her mother, Mrs. John St. Jean and her sister, Mrs. Ivan Cocks of Thunder Bay. The daintily-appointed small tea tables were served by the Misses Rosemary McParland, Lola Scott, Rae Sisson, Aileen Ross, Beth Ross and Cathy Cocks. Mesdames Ralph Morrill, Ray Sisson and Harold Gellert replenished. The guest book was attended by Donna Gellert and the many lovely gifts were opened by Dale Sisson. Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Holland and their family have returned from their holidays spent partly in southern Ontario with Mr. and Mrs. Clare Scott, in Burlington. Alda and Maxine Holland then went on to visit Mr. and Mrs. Ray Alexander in Rockaway N.J., while their parents took son Michael on a sight-seeing visit to Niagara and other places. Mrs. Lila (Deacon) Hemphill of Thunder Bay was the guest of Mrs. J.D . Bryson, visiting other old friends in Schreiber. Miss Mary Snider of Toronto, with Mrs. Edythe Ronsen, Mr. and Mrs. Harry White of Thunder Bay visited Mr. and Mrs. Lester McCuaig and other McCuaig relatives this week. Mrs. W.T. Wallace is visiting her mother in New York. PUBLIC NOTICE SELECT COMMITTEE OF THE LEGISLATURE ON THE ONTARIO MUNICIPAL BOARD INVITATION TO SUBMIT WRITTEN BRIEFS On June 30th, 1972, the Ontario Legislature appointed a Select Committee to examine, inquire into and report upon the Ontario Municipal Board and to make recommendations on: (a) the purpose, object and functions of the Ontario Municipal Board. (b) the jurisdiction of the Ontario Muni- cipal Board. (c) the structure and organization of the Ontario Municipal Board. (d) the procedures and practices of the Ontario Municipal Board. (e) the procedures by way of appeal from the orders and rulings of the Ontario Municipal Board, includ- ing appeals by way of petitions to the Lieutenant Governor in Council. (f) the relationship of the Ontario Municipal Board in the discharge of its responsibilities with the Provincial Government, Local government and individual citizen. The Committee invites written briefs from individuals and organizations who may wish to present informa- tion, opinions or suggestions regarding any of the above matters relating to the Ontario Municipal Board. Mrs. Cook whose home is in Kirkcaldy, Scotland has been in Canada before, but never managed to get up to Schreiber. Jim, Mrs. Smart's husband, who seldom manages to get a word in, during the reminiscing, firmly declares the two ladies sleep neither by day or by night ~ they are too busy talking!
