Mr. McEwen has a family of five consisting of four boys and one girl. Three of his children attend Terrace Bay Campus High, and two of them are in elementary school. His wife is the area Public Health Nurse, and visits weekly at both campuses. Mr. McEwen enjoys both curling and camping, S_ and his summer and winter second home is 40 miles west of Cypress River. How pleasing that he has chosen to remain in this area. We wish him a happy and successful teaching career. PARENTS' NIGHT The Schreiber Campus of the Schreiber=Terrace Bay High School was the scene of a very successful evening on Wednesday, November 17th. Parents from Schreiber, Terrace Bay, and Rossport met with the teachers, the Principal, Mr. E.E. Forgues, and Vice-principal Mrs. R. Mulligan to discuss the pro- gress of the students. Although a general invitation was extended to all parents, the format differed slightly from former years This year the teachers invited specific parents and the parents, in turn, requested interviews with par- ticular teachers. Several students participated by acting most capably as secretaries to the teachers, and by serving coffee. The heavy turn-out of parents in spite of the bad weather is indicative of the high degree of interest in education shown in this area. The staff of Schreiber Campus is encouraged by this active and conscientious support, and it welcomes and opportun= ity such as Parents' Night to discuss the academic and social progress of students, both vital aspects of the journey toward maturity.
