Stretch and Sew Course The final session of the Stretch and Sew Course will be held next Tuesday, Novem- ber 9th, in the Home Econom- ics Room of the Terrace Bay High School . Girl$' Ringette = The Rec- reation Office will be accept ing registrations up to this Friday, Nov. 5th at 5 p.m. This programme is open to girls 12 years of age and up. A special open practise session] will be held next week for girls interested in trying the game. Registrations will be accepted at this session (see Arena Schedule posted at Recreation Centre for day and time of session). ARENA SCHEDULE The first detailed arena Schedule will appear in next week's News on Thursday, November 11th. For arena activities scheduled up to November 10th be sure to refer to the arena schedules posted throughout the Recreation Centre. COMMERCIAL HOCKEY GENERAL MEETING A general meeting for anyone interested in play- ing commercial hockey has been scheduled for this Thursday, November 4th, at 7:30 p.m. in the small meeting room of the Recreation Centre. It is important that all interested players attend this meeting to set up an organization for this coming season. As with other programmes co-sponsored by the Recreation Department, all those interested in playing commercial hockey this year must be members of the Terrace Bay Recreation Association. February 10,11,12 and 13 - 1972 - Terrace Bay Winter Carnival (tenative dates). aden ATTENTION LADY CURLERS Fun curling nights will be held = Tuesday, November 9th and Thursday, November 11th at 7:00 p.m. New curlers are especially welcome. Instruc- tors will be on hand to introduce them to the game | Regular league curling will commence Tuesday, November 16th. There are a number of available curlers to complete rinks. High School Auditorium, 10:00 a.m. UNICEF HALLOWEEN CANVAS The Halloween canvas held on behalf of UNICEF by the students of St. Martin's School collected $163.70 to assist the work of UNICEF throughout the world. There were 111 children from 58 different families involved in this canvas. Unfortunately, the weather was considerably' less than co-operative and the amount collected is amazing when you consider that last year, under better weather conditions only $160.00 was collec- ted. To all the students who carried their UNICEF collection boxes on the wet trek from door-to-door and to all the people in town who contributed, a sincere "Thank you" from the children in the 112 countries receiving aid from UNICEF.
