PAGE 12 TERRACE BAY NEWS SEPTEMBER 22, 1971 Dunwoody-Spadoni Wedding=- cont'd from page 11.. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore her mother's wedding gown, re-styled to today's mode. The gown, of antique ivory silk brocade cor- de, was on simple A line, with high fashion in the narrow bands of self material, passing over the shoulders, marking the Empire waistline in front with a knot d'amour, and extending in the back to a deep open Vee held by another love knot. These bands, edged with cutwork and exquisitely embroid- ered with pearls, were used for form the mandarin collar, the slender cuffs on the very full lego mutton sleeves, and the tiara which held the petalled bou- ffant veil, under which flowed the graceful full length veil over the short train of the gown. She wore a chain and cross of diamonds and amthy- sts, an heirloom for seven generations in the Cebrar- io family, and carried a replica of her mother's wed- ding bouquet - a cascade of white gardenias, with stephanotis knotted in the streamers. The bride had two attendants = Miss Helen Harness as maid of honour, and Miss Marie Deluce, a cousin, as bridesmaid. They wore similar gowns of petal pink silk organza, striped in satin, the siraight line skirts marked with gathering under the empire bodices of guipere lace, finished with mandarin neck lines. Lace cuffs complemented the long full sleeves and their slippers were tinted to match their gowns. Their headdresses were garlands of pink roses, with buds knotted in the streamers and they carried sheafs of white glads. Michael Bell was the best man. , The wedding dinner was given in the Schreiber town hall with Paddy Spadoni, brother of the bride, as M.C. The toast to the bride was given by Mike Bell. Following the dinner a reception was held in the same hall when Mrs. Spadoni received in an Ocean blue wool and silk alpaca gown, original from Vogue of Rome. Gorgeous embroidery of saphire and brilliants marked the mandarin collar, the narrow cuffs on the full long sleeves and the deep band forming the high waistline on the midi length gown. Her accessories were in white and her cor- sage was made of yellow roses. The groom's mother chose a pale pink crepe with silver threading afternoon length gown. The scoop neckline was bound with self material which was used again in loops to ornament the blouseon bodice and the long, slimfitted sleeves were finished with a wrist frill. Her accessories were in black and her corsage of tea roses and lily of the valley. For their wedding trip to Banff and other points at the west coast, the bride donned an ensemble dof petal pink dress and matching coat of imported Alpaca, double seams on the semi-fitted coat, forming an open inverted pleat in the back and cuffs on the classic narrow sleeves. Her accessories were in navy and her corsage was of white gardenias. They will make their home at 61 Charles St., Toronto. Prior to their wedding the bride was entertained at a community shower in Schreiber and the groom at a Stag in Schreiber.
