Endure | would like to ask, through your local paper, for the co-operation of citizens regarding the pic- tographs which are located at Worthington Bay, south of Schreiber and recently rediscovered. These pictographs are rare, very old and irre- placeable. The Royal Ontario Museum and their associate Dr. Dewdney believe they pre-date the white man in Canada. It is apparent there is being some mutilation of these markings by persons touch- ing or scraping the surface. If this were continued the pictographs would gradually disappear, and this area would lose one of its real historical links. So may | suggest that they be viewed and photographed only. The owners of the property and the Government have not seen fit to safeguard these pictographs and so | ask local help in protecting them until further investigation of their worth has been established. - Clem Downey. Perennially popular comedienne Carol Burnett and the rest of her talented gang, including actor Harvey Korman, will be featured on CBC-TV this seasen on the Carol Burnett Show which debuts Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 8:30 p.m.
