To acknow- ledge that fact Elementary School Certificates would be formally awarded before the witnesses present that night. Mr. Lumley then presented the certificates as Mr. Briscoe announced each graduate by reading a brief note which the students had written about each other. This proved to be an interesting and entertaining approach which everyone applauded. Students and teachers both, had to be, and were good sports. Once all certificates had been awarded, Debbie Opas and Linda Dejonghe presented gifts to Mrs. Zwir, Mrs. Boutilier and Mr. Merkley for their wonderful work on the grade eight excursion. The evenings events were closed with the sining of 'O Canada', after which coffee and cookies were served; then, the graduates ended their evening with a party and dance.
