The Award is based on six pérformance tests: - 1. one minute speed sit-ups; 2. standing broad jump; 3. shuitle run; 4. flexed arm hand; 5. | 50 yard run; 6. 300 yard run. i A student who scores 95-100% on all six items re= ceives an Award of Excellence Crest and a Certifi- cate of Excellence which is signed by the Prime Minister, Mr. Trudecu and the Minister of Health, Mr. John Munro. There were sixteen students at Schreiber High the Award of Excellence stand=- ards. They are as follows: Ron Chicoine, Jane Chop- ty, Clover Dukes, Darlene Fummerton, Kim Gellert, Carolyn Glad, Karen Hiebert, Hugh Holmes, Katie Kastilek, Susan Phillips, Betty Pinion, Bill Smilsky, | Cathy Stokes, Mark Stokes, Carol Webb and Janet Zwir. A student must "average" out any four tests at the Silver Crest and 55-77% for the Bronze Crest. ¥ The number of recipients of the Gold Crest was 22; the Silver Crest, 804 and the Bronze Crest, 43. very good indication of the over-all fitness of the students.
