SCHOOL BOARD MEETING The regular meeting of the Schreiber-Terrace Bay: District Roman Catholic Separate School Board was held Tuesday, March 16th in St. Martin's School, Terrace Bay. Attending were: Mrs. F. Helmink, Mrs. M. Bouchard, Mr. M. Nicol, Mr. R. Mitchell, Mc. L. Bourke, Mr. Y. Beauparlant, Mr. J. Stephens, Mr M. Anderson and Sister Marvel Belfry. Minutes of the February meeting were adopted as read. Mrs. W. Mullins gave her financial report, operating expenses Totalling $22,581.62 were approved for payment. Correspondence was read. Mr. Stephens, Academic Administrator discussed curriculum within the two schools noting possible changes and expansions in some subjects. Reports from the two Principals were discussed and accepted, permission was given at this time for the Careful handling and expert work in every phase of our dry cleaning service--that's our guarantee of quality. . The following committees gave their reports = Property: Mr. Mel Nicol - the schools are being inspected now for the work to be done during the summer break. . Finance: Mr. L. Bourke - a preliminary budget for 1971 was presented to the Board but tabled until the Grant Regulation factors are completed. Policy: Mrs. M. Bouchard - a committee meeting will be held this month to evaluate our present Board policies. Negotiations: Mr. G. Ramsay - Salary Negotiations with the teaching staff is completed for the 1971-72 § school year. Building: Mrs. M. Bouchard - First application has been made for expansions to St. Martin's School and 3 Holy Angel's School. The improvements to be - all } purpose room (gym) and Library in both schools. j The next meeting will be held April 21st at 7:30 p.m. in Holy Angel's School, Schreiber. ST. PATRICK'S DAY BRIDGE SUCCESSFUL A very successful St. Patrick's Day Bridge took place at the Community Church Hall, sponsored by the evening group of the Ladies Auxiliary. Gaily decorated with large shamrocks, befitting the day, the hall was almost filled to capacity. Winners of the first prize was Mrs. Dolly Sitko, while low went to Mrs. Marg Duriez. The door prize was won by Mrs. Marilyn Chisholm. A delightful fruit salad with raisin bread was served, with tea and coffee. Convened by Mrs. G. Soughton and Mrs. M. Lundberg, assistants were Mesdames B. Norris, J. Mercer, G. Olsen, J. Schritt, M. Dorland and D. Rafalant.
