Senior Regent Alice Yates welcomed all members present and two new members Lorraine Prill and Yvonne Vienneau, who were enrokled and welcomed into the defending circle. Minutes of previous meeting, correspondence and other reports were read. Anne Stachiw will convene the ladies curling * bonspiel on March 27th and Stella Sadowick will convene men's curling banquet on April 3rd . Senior Regent, Alice Yates won the raffle and Marian Burn's name was drawn for pot of gold. Carmel Zborowski and her committee served a lovely lunch. SKI CLUB VANDALIZED Sometime early last week, the Terrace Bay Ski Club was the victim of senseless destruction = windows were smashed, lightbulbs broken and club equipment was scattered about the hill. The damage was reported to the Police and an investigation has resulted in the apprehension of several persons. Restitution will be made to the club for the damage done. It is estimated that over the years vandalism. has cost our club well in excess of $2000. In addition, vandalism has destroyed the results of many hours of volunteer work, done by club members and community = minded people. THE MEMBERS OF THE TERRACE BAY SKI CLUB ARE FED UP WITH THESE CRIMINAL ACTS. We are a private club operating on private property. We can initiate legal proceedings against those who damage our property and in future we intend to follow this course of action when warranted. SKI CLUB NEWS Last Sunday, twenty-eight entrants pitted themselves against the torturous obstacle course in what proved to be a popular novelty event. The rules had to be revised somewhat to eliminate the tubing part of the event as the tube deflated during the 3rd entrant's run. Awards were made as follows: = Ist Robert Van- Special Effort (Youngest Skier) Carol Moore; Special Effort (Opposite end of the scale) Marilyn Chisholm. Saturday, March 13th, saw the final event in the Saturday morning race league. In all, six events have been run this year counting toward the race league championship.
