FEBRUARY 25, 1971 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 5 WOMEN OF THE MOOSE MEETING Women of the Moose Chapter 1426, held their meeting on Wednesday, February 17th with Senior Regent Alice Yates presiding. Enrollment took place when Alma Moquin was welcomed into the defending circle. Minutes of previous meeting, correspondence and financial reports were read by recorder Sadie Benko. The ladies will cater for the Ladies Curling Bon- spiel banquet to be held on March 27th, convener to be named at next meeting. Mid winter conference winners of the recent home bingo were Sharon Dobush, Alice Werczynski, Mrs. Borutski and Dianne Figliomeni. Chapter night programme to be held on March 3rd with Moosehaven chairman Marian Burns and her committee of Jackie Calder, Carmel Zborowski and Mary Martinson being in charge of same. Lovely lunch was served by Rose Dakin and her committee. STORK CLUB - Born to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hickerson of Terrace Bay a boy on Feb. 16,1971 Diah and Peter McNeill, with their two children are visiting Mrs. McNeill's mother and dad, Mr. . and Mrs. Angus Drexler. The McNeill family are home on leave from Germany where Mr. McNeill is stationed with the army. REGULATOR FAILURE CAUSES POWER FAILURE The thirty-five minute power failure to Terrace Bay on February 16th which took place at 5:15 p.m. was caused by the failure of a voltage regulator at the Aguasabon Power Plant Switch Yard. A fire resulting from the failure was quickly put out with the help of the Terrace Bay Fire Department. The defective equipment was then isolated and service restorded to the town. In 1970, for the first time in Ontario Hydro's history, the capacity of thermal stations, both coal-fired and nuclear, exceeded that of hydro- electric plants.
