This meeting will be the first of a number to be held throughout the Northwest over the next year to try to stimulate growth and will cover such related subjects as; Secondary Industry, Access Roads, Trans- portation, Tourism, Government Buildings, Pollution, efc. We would hope for a good turnout of Township Council, Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Labour, interested organizations and general public. This meeting is sponsored by the Northwestern Ontario Development Council and will be held at:- MEETING PLACE: TERRACE BAY RECREATION CENTRE (Large Meeting Room) WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER %th, 1970 DATE: TIME: 7:00 P.M. W.E. CAVANAUGH, Reeve. PERSONNAL RECOMMENDATIONS TO INCOMING COUNCIL BY A. ALLEN (1) Institute as an arm of Council a "Planning and Development Committee". If deemed advisable to include representation from the Terrace Bay Chamber of Commerce and any other body Coun- cil may wish to include. . To: (a) Entice secondary industry to Terrace Bay, with reduced taxation concessions if the firm lo- cates in the Industrial Sub-Division. (b) Expanded tourisim promotion for Terrace Bay. (c) Peruse the possibility of an alternate route from the town to the Kimberly-Clark Pulp Mill, a- voiding the C .P.R. overhead bridge, and this route to link in with the cemetary. Suggest from the Lands and Forest Department Building to the mill. This in conjuction with the C .P.R. and the Department of Highways. Plan with the co-operation of the land owner the development of the park area on the south side of Simcoe Plaza. Provincial Police for law enforcement in the Town- ship of Terrace Bay. (4) Petition the O.M.B. in resolution, requesting all retired property owners in the Province of Ontario be exempt from Education Tax levey on those holdings. : (5) Petition the Provincial Government to obtain a voice in Educational expenditures = Budgets in- cluded. (6) Change the title of Clerk-Treasurer of the Town- ship of Terrace Bay to Township Administrator and make all inspectors in the Township subject to the Administrator as; Building, Plumbing, Health, Dog and Animal Control, Zoning Regulations etc. (7) In conjuction with the Department of Education , the Department of Health and the Department of Agriculture peruse the possibility of the erection of a dome enclosure over the swimming pool .
