PAGE 14 NOVEMBER 26, 1970 SCHREIBER "KIN" CORNER On Monday, November I6th, the Kinsmen Club of Schreiber met at the Schreiber Curling Club, President Michael Cosgrove presided and achieved lively discussion throughout the meeting. The second "Kingo" began last week, Eight hundred cards are available to the residents of Schreiber, Rossport and Terrace Bay. Some lucky person or persons will win $1,000, at the end of each Kingo, The cards are available at any of the four grocery stores in Schreiber and Terrace Bay. The annual Kinsmen Peanut Blitz will be held on November 30th, December Ist and 2nd, It is the goal of the Kinsemn Club of Schreiber to visit every house in Schreiber. If the readers wish to reserve their peanuts, they should contact any member of the Schreiber Club, Arrangements have been made to construct change houses at the White Sand leke Beach, These conveniences will be available to the many area residents who take advantege of the water and the associated sports. Plans have been finalized for the Grey Cup Celsbrations on Saturday, November 28th. Two coloured T.V. sets will be located in the Schreiber Town Hall. Cribbage, food and refreshments will be aveilable throughout the afternoon from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. In the evening dancing will taks place from 9:00 pom, to 12:00 pom. All citizens, 2I years of age and over are welcome to celebrate this gala affair with the Kinsmen Club of Sshreiber. + It was reported that Kin President, Michael Cosgrove was "running" fer the office of Deputy Governor of 3 one 4 in District 2. The election will take place at the Spring Zone Conference to be held in Geraldton, in I97I. By the end of November, tickets will be available on a delicious side of first grade beef, Tickets will be available from any member. The draw will take place on January 3I, I970 and will provide the lucky winner with many testy steaks and dishes in the New Year. The local Kinsmen membership is looking forward to the 25th anniversary dinner and dance, on December Yth, in the Schreiber Town Hall, It is hoped that many former Kins- men will participate in the evening's festivities. After the business meeting a social hour was enjoyed at the home of Gine Caccamo, SWARD-KEAT ING VOWS EXCHANGED On October 3I, 1970, St. Andrew's United Church wes the scene of a double ring ceremony which united in marriage Donna Lynn Keating and Robert Frederick Sward, with Rev. E.C. Prinselaar officiating. The bride is the twin daughter of Mrs. Albert J. Smith of Schreiber, Ontario and the late Donald Keating and the groom is the son of Mr, and Mrs. F., Sward of Richmond Hill, Ontario. The bride, given in marriage by her step-father, chose a white lace pant suit, She carried an old family prayer book that belonged to her late great grandmother. The prayer book was covered with white lace and adorned with turquoise carnations corsage spiced with Lily of the Valley and white and silver streamers. Miad of honour was Linda Lee, twin sister of the bride. She chose a turquoise pant suit trimmed with white lace and carried a large white mum nosegay. Bruce Ironside of Torento was best man and Bob Leichman and John Knox also of Toronto were ushers. A wedding supper was held in the Anglisan Church basement and a reception followed in the home of the bride's parents. Out of town guests included: Mr, and Mrs, F. Sward, Mr, and Mrs, R.J. PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE OCTOBER MEETING Chairman, We Malcolm opened the October meeting of the Schreiber Parks and Recreation Committee with the minutes adopted as printed. All members have turned in requests stating desire to remain on the Committee for another one year term with the exception of Mr. J. Campbell whose place will be filled by the appointment of Mr, L. Bourke, These statements will be turned in to Council. Arena - The Boards have all been painted and repairs made to the players! and penalty boxes. Figure Skating - F, Bryson reported it is not definite the teacher from Terrace Bay will be coming to teach and if so the time will be limited. A definite decision will be known within a few days. Playground - The expenditure program for the playground has been submitted for grants but finalization still forth- coming due to complications in original submission. Mr. G. Speck and Mr. CG. Blanchette represented our Committee in the Regional Conference in Manltouwadge. Neither were available for reports but will present a report at the next meeting. A letter was received from the Cambrian Players of Thunder Bay regarding drama clubs in our district which will be turned over to the School. P.
