Senior Regent, Alice Yates welcomed former member Betty Sweet, Recorder. Sadie Benko read the minutes of the previous meeting and correspondence. Library Chairman, Lois McRae and co-workers Vi Fedorak, May Caldwell, Alice Werzynski, will be in charge of chapter night program on November 4th. A lovely lunch was served by Marion Reid and her committee. LAKE SUPERIOR BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING The following is minutes of the Lake Superior Board of Education meeting held November 17th at Manitouwadge High School . A delegation headed by Mr. R. Baron, Chairman of the Salary Committee of the lccal O.S.S.T.F. presented figures by overhead projection and in writing in support of re-opening negotiations with the Board with regard to 1970-71 salaries of sec- ondary school teachers. Mr. Baron was informed that his presentation would receive consideration later in the meeting. Resolution No. 70/227, moved by J. Warwick and seconded by K. Beasley, resolved that: The Board approve the minutes of meeting of the Advisory Committee for Trainable Retarded held October 13 and was carried. The following resolutions were carried = That the Board approve the expenditures for September, 1970 as listed at $318,005.86; The Board approved the working conditions for Mr. Gunter Wirtz as Bandleader in the Marathon High School and renew' his contract under existing conditions for one additional year. The Board will consider the introduction of an instrumental music programme within the division in 1971. The Board approved the establishment of a Manitouwadge Reading Centre at the Manitou- wadge Elementary School as suggested by Principal H.A. Enns.
