NOTICE OF GOLF CLUB WIND-UP The Aguasabon Golf Club Wind-up will be held Friday, October 23rd at the MASONIC HALL from 8.00 p.m. to 1.00 a.m. There will be live music and lunch will be served. The tickets are $3.00 per couple and these may be purchased from Kit Thomas, Jim Rogers, Dick Rattray and Charlie Koski. St. Martin's Parish Council Social Committee held a Pot Luck Supper in the Parish Hall on Sunday even- ing, October 18th. A delicious supper was enjoyed by approximately 200 guests . The Social Committee was very pleased with the co-operation they received from members of the Parish, and hope to arrange other social activities in the near future. HALLOWEEN CANVAS FOR U.N.I.C.E.F. The pupils of St. Martin's School in Terrace Bay will be conducting the door-to-door canvas of U.N.I.C.E.F. this Halloween. In previous years this canvas was sponsored by other local organiza- tions, but last year no one took charge of it. U.N.I.C.E.F. (the United Nations Children's Fund) aid goes to 112 developing countries; over 700 million children are assisted by this worthwhile organization. The need for help is mare critical every year. By 1980, it is estimated that there will be over 930 million children in the world re~ quiring U.N.I1.C.E.F. aid. A major function of U.N.I.C.E.F.'s work is to help governments of developing countries to plan the most effective use of U.N.I.C.E.F. aid within the context of the country's development plans.
