TERRACE BAY HOSTS NATIONAL LEAGUE FASTBALL TOURNAMENT The Recreation Department will be sponsoring a North Shore National League Fastball Tournament on Wednesday, September 2nd, at the Separate School' Ball Field. First game is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m., and our local NATIONALS will most probably be involved in the first encounter. Be sure to watch for the final schedule in next week's News outlining teams involved and times they play. SUPPORT OUR LOCAL BOYS BY COMING OUT TO WATCH THEM PLAY. LOCAL PONY LEAGUE TO PLAY IN NORTH SHORE FASTBALL TOURNAMENT Next Monday, August 31st, our local boys will be travelling to Manitouwadge to take part in the North Shore Fastball Tournament. Our boys still need the services of two more cars to take them to the tourna- ment. If you are not working Monday and would be interested in helping out, please call the Recreation Office at 3542. ROLLER SKATING CANCELLED THIS SUNDAY Since there will be a Folk Mass held this Sunday in the Arena from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m., the regular Roller Skating session will be cancelled for this week only. Regular sessions will resume the following Sunday at 7:00 p.m. COMING EVENTS Thursday, August 27th = Swim Tests, August session. Sunday, August 30th = Tennis Clinic = Tennis Courts Sunday, August 30th = Folk Mass, Arena, 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 2nd - National League Fast- ball Tournament, St. Martin's ball diamond. MARSEILLE VISITS TERRACE BAY The Terrace Bay 'Minor Hockey Association, in co-operation with Mr. Max Mekilok, District Representative of Molson's Breweries, had an honour- ed guest visit Terrace Bay on Friday, August 21st. Frank St. Marseille of the ST. LOUIS BLUES arrived mid-afternoon to sign autographs and talk informally with anyone interested at the Curling Lounge from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. That evening a Stag, sponsored by Minor Hockey, was held at the Masonic Hall, starting at 9:00 p.m. The Terrace Bay Minor Hockey Associaition would like to thank all those who actually supported Minor Hockey by attending the Stag on Friday evening. In photo below - Frank St. Marseille is pictured signing autographs for many of his younger fans. Women of the Moose Chapter #1420 will hold their next meeting on September 2nd at 8 p.m. Publicity chairman, Carol Brown and her committee of co- workers, Nacy Marquis, Elsie Wills, and Betty Randa will be in charge of Chapter Night. Anyone wishing to attend the 20th anniversary of the Thunder Bay Chapter 1212 Women of the Moose on September 19, please contact recorder, Sadie Benko, by August 29th. Robert A. Benko who is with the Armed Forces stationed at Victoria B.C. was home on embarkation leave. Robert leaves for Cypress shortly. Bravery is discussing politics with the boss. Foolhardiness is doing it a second time.
