MEN'S CURLING CLUB The Club's race against time and the weather is coming down to a dramatic finish. With two games remaining in the final sched- uled event - the Brading's - it looks as though the Club has won the race, This Wednesday evening the Consolation finals of the Bradings is being played be= tween Farrow and Cline, On Friday night at nine, Oisen squares off in the finals with Allen, Both of these games should be worth two hours of anybody's time to watch. In between these two games and up to the week-end the girls will keep the ice busy. As a result of the speeded up play of last week-end, Thor Olsen, the man at the . wheel, piloted his crew home to victory in the Hudson's Bay event - a beautiful climax to a very exciting game with Gordon Dodge. The happy gang: Olsen skip, MacDonald third, Moore Seoond and Anderson lead, Incident- ally, we've lost track of the number of things Jimmy MacDonald has copped prizes for this year. He'll need = wheelbarrow come banquet night. As for Olsen, we though he was about due znd it is noteworthy that in coming through in this event he had to plow through both Wellings and Ostling. Nels Allen also eliminated a tough field to bring home the Consolation bacon, He climed over Farrow, Sinkins, Lohr and lastly Haughn in the finals. This good rink: Allen skip, Harris third, Ruzyski, second, and Swirhun lead, Lust week we mentioned that Garvin and Sinkins were about due. We weren't far wrong. Garvin knocked Wellings out of the Bradings on Monday evening with his last rock of the last end -- one of the most beautiful chip and roll shots we've seen all season. Sinkins tock over Farrow's rink on a couple of evenings (4b was working) and turned in some itice wins. (We're getting in practice for the King's Plate betting.) Some mention has been made regarding a possible mixed bonspiel to ring down the cur- tein. With hack-off time early next week, it would require scheduling into the last week of March to complete, With ice collapse possible at any time, a half finished bons- piel seems more probable than possible, with 2ll the grey hairs that go along with it. It seems wise to conclude on a high note, and turn the ice over to challenges for what time remains in the season, The big thing now, of course, is the Le grand social event to officially say adieu to. the great 1951-52 season, Watch for the announcements ! Page 3 L.DIES!'
