During the fall of 1950 the Schreiber, Marathon and Terrace Bay Clubs organized the North Shore Badminton League and during the 1950/51 season held six organized tour- nements as well as a "two day open" to complete the season. In the fall of /51 the N.S.,B.L. was expanded to include White River. This season the League will hold four tourna- ments and another "two day open". In addition to the above the Schreiber- Terrace Bay clubs have played a home and home social series with the Thunder Bay Flying Club and heve succeeded in interest- ing them with our activities. The result has been the proposed organization of a Lakehead League for next year with the winning teams of each League playing off and establishing district championships. The Flying Club is also holding a 4 day open Tournament, the first of its kind in this area. The president of the Ontario Badminton Association recently remarked on the upsurge of interest in the game during the past few years and credits the teaching of the game in high schools and collegiates. His words have been amply proven by the. number of juniors entered in the Ontario Junior Championship Matches held last week and the number of persons who played and witnessed the Ontario Senior Championship matches at Stratford.
