{ KIWANIS CLUB'S KIDDIES! KARNIVAL SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 1ST Start getting your costumes ready, kids, the /nnual Kiwanis Kiddies' Karnival is not far off. The big event will take place as usual at the school rink and there will be prizes for the best costumes in all age groups. The full program has not been com= pleted but will include the grand march, a broomball game and a hockey geme., Everyone is cordially invited. The Kiwanis Club would like to take this opportunity to thank the Women's fuxiliary of the Canadian Legion for their fine contri- bution of $25,00, This cheque was donated with the wish that it be used exclusively in Terrace Bay for any child requiring Medical Aid, This money has been deposited in the Kiwanis Club Welfare account to be used as directed above, Last Tuesday the Boy Scouts were guests of the Club at their regular meeting at the Hotel Terrace in honour of Boy Scout Week. 0-0-0 MIDGET HOCKEY Last Saturday morning at the Schreiber Arena the Midget "Rockets", Terrace Bay's lone entry in the local Midget League, hand- ed the Schreiber "Nesbitts"™ a drubbing to the tune of 7-5. To top this off they forced the Schreiber "Y.M.C.4.'s"™ to come from behind to tie last night's game 4-4, The "Rockets" with only 8 midget players were in command throughout and it was only in the last few minutes of play that the "Y.M.C.A4.'sS" were able to tie it up, Ray Stachiw with 3 goals and an assist on the fourth goal scored by Billy Mersh played a heads up game for the "Rockets", Special mention too should be made of the goal tending by Allan Cataford and on defence Stan Savoy played a near 60 minute game. A practice has been called for all Mid- get players for Friday afternoon, 2:00 p.m. at the Schcol Rink.
