Song sheets were passed out and all enjoyed singing some old favorites, led by H. Lohr and accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Marg Simmer . Board Chairman, Peter Vanderkam drew a parallel between the Church and an automobile pointing out that the latter only operates if all parts are checked and in working order. Church members are the "working" parts of the organization and he urged all who belong to the Community Church to examine themselves and see if they are in shape to keep the Church "on the road". He extended best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Husser and asked Mrs. Vera Kennedy to make a presentation to Mr. Husser on behalf of his many friends here. A telegram from Rev. A.E. Gallagher, former priest of St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church in Terrace Bay conveyed his good wishes and a promis- sory note from the Bank here announced that a gift of money was held by them for Rev. and Mrs. Husser In reply Mr. Husser thanked everyone and said © that Mrs. Husser is progressing satisfactorily in Hospital: He promised a visit here in the future and invited any one who might be in the North Bay area to drop in and see them in their new home. He said his experience in "this Ecumenical Church " has been a very rich one and concluded with " We say so-long, but hope that the intervening time before we return will not be too long." See photo page 10...... A cool glass of sweet lemonade with a pinch or two of salt added is a great favorite for summer.
