TERRACE BAY NEWS SCHREIBER TOWN TOPICS Bruce and Don Reid of Kapuskasing are in town to join Morrow Riddell and Ray Sisson on a fishing trip. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Weaver of White River are visit- ing his parents Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Weaver and othe friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Herb Gellert were in Thunder Bay for a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Gellert. Friends of Harold and Kay Gellert got together for a cottage warming party at their place at Sand Lake and presented them with a gift. A good time was had by all dancing and the music was supplied by Herb Gellert at the accordion and Flash Bourke on the guitor. The Cubs and their mothers got together for an exciting baseball game Sunday afternoon in the Public School grounds. The mothers played against the cubs and the score ended 30 to 30. Carole LeBlanc celebrated her sixth birthday Thursday , May 21st by having sixteen friends in to play gomes and her mother Mrs. Helen LeBlanc and her sister Shell, aunts Carol-Ann Marshall, Annette Campbell! and Carmel Zborowski helped serve the 4 birthday cake and goodies. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Spillane of Toronto visited with his brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Spillane. Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Beaucage and family of Thunder Bay visited her mother Mrs. Louise Guillet. BROWNIE PACK ENROLLMENT Brownie Pack enrollment was held May 19th at Holy Angels School Auditorium. | Brownie, Rosalie Kushnieryk said the "Brownie Prayer" to open the program. The Tweenies enrolled chose a "Japanese Theme" and wore bright kimonas and carried fans while the Brownies sang a Japenese song as they entered the hall. Tweenies enrolled as Brownies were - Pam Spikula, [J Wendy Ray, Carol Huard, Mary Stortini, Joyce Gauthier, Valerie Tramblay. Golden Bars were presented to Laurie Reynolds, Rosalie Kushnieryk, Shiela Valentino, Sanda Wills, Donalda Tremblay, Cathy Doig, Virginia Stortini, Linda Lengyl, Bonnie Bourguignon, Laurie' Strasser. Golden Hands were presented by Madam Commissioner, Mary Shack to - Tina Ellacott, Sandra Bourguignon, Betty Ann McKen na, Jocelyn Tremblay, Victoria Krause, Michelle Bedard, Louise Morin. Service Star pins were presented to Tawny Owl Huard and Tawny Owl Sisson and they were also presented gifts of appreciation by Brownie Valerie Tremblay . The entire Brownie Pack enacted a play "The Brownie Story" and a sing-song was enjoyed by all, while lunch was being served by the Gold Hand Brownies assisted by Mrs. Gladys Anderson and Mrs. Sheila Glad. Leaders taking part in the program were Brown Owl Marcello Cebrario, Tawny Owls June Sisson and Betty Huard, Packie Dale Sisson. , LIBRARY BOARD MEETING The regular meeting of the Library Board of Trustees was held Saturday, May 9, 1970. Present were Mrs. J. Turner, Mrs. R. McGrath, chairman, Mrs. N. McGuire, and Sec.-Treas. Miss G. Hadley and Librarian Mrs. A. Hill. The Sec.-Treas. presented the audited financial | report for 1969. The board employed a librarian for fifteen hours a week for twelve months and a student assistant part time for six months. The sum of $1,253.91 was spent on the purchase of books for the permanent collection while only $19.30 was spent on periodicals: $592.65 was spent on shelving and file cont'd é
