PRESS RELESE Two offences under the Liquor Control Act. were investigated and two teenage males were charged with minor consuming and summoned to Court. One minor disturbance among hockey fans was . investigated during playoffs between Thunder Bay and Schrieber. Warnings to keep the peace were issued but no charges preferred. One reported stolen property investigation was conducted. Property was located and had not been , stolen as originally reported. Four motor vehicle collisions were investigated, when two persons were slightly injured. Two occured in Schreiber and two on Highway No. |7._ Property damage was estimated at $3500.00. Adverse weather and road conditions was the main contributing factor and drivers are asked to excercise extra caution at this time of year. Twenty-five vehicles were checked and eight warnings for minor infractions or vehicle defects were issued. One driver was also warned for care- less vehicle operation on Schreiber streets. In Schreiber Provincial Court (Criminal Division) twenty cases were processed before Judge T.A. CONNOR. Fines totalling $280.00 were levied on five charges under the Highway Traffic Act. Three charges of Impaired Driving resulted in two convic- tions and one withdrawal. Fines totaled $200 for each convicted driver. Two charges under the Liquor Control Act resulted in a total of $20.00 in fines. Two charges of receiving food by fraud at a restaurant resulted in a fine of $40.00 each for two subjects. Three additional charges were withdrawn, one was dismissed by the Judge. Warrants were issued in two cases where the accused failed to appear in Court. Remaining cases were adjourned to the next Court sitting. The Ontario Division of the Canadian Red Cross Society will celebrate its 5 Oth Anniversary on April 9th anc. 10th. Over 400 delegates from all parts of Ontario will be in Toronto for the event.
