PCE ee SCHREIBER HIGH SCHOOL HOLDS OPEN HOUSE Schreiber High. School was a hive of activity on their Open House night, when despite the bad weather an exceptionally large crowd of parents and friends enjoyed the particularly interesting exhibts in all the classrooms. The staff were all working as hosts and understandably gratified by the large attendance. Exhibits of Canadiana loaned by Schreiber people along with many early pictures of the town and pottery done by the twin Guina sisters, Kathie and Karen, from clay found near their summer camp at Devlin, were Closely examined. In all the occasion was a tribute to both staff and students' efforts. McCuaig. | | _TERRACE BAY NEWS FEBRUARY 19,1970 White Cane Week was a spe- cial week for the child= The ren of Holy Angels School. Mr.*Fergu= Angel $ Harp son of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind visited the school and spoke to the children. In his talk he explained to the children | the function of the CNIB. The institute endeavours to register all blind people in Canada and to provide them with reading tapes, braille books and also home for the aged blind. | He also encouraged the pupils to take care of their eyes as no eyes are better than the ones we have. The children took up a collection for the CNIB' for which Mr. Ferguson was very grateful. He said it would be spent on tapes for the blind.
