TEACHERS' FEDERATI@N HOLD FALL DINNER The Lake Superior Association,Federation of Women Teachers' of Ontario held their Fall Dinner meeting in St. Andrew's Church hall in Schreiber with Mrs. Ruth Foster, executive assistant from Toronto, special guest. Miss Gwen Hadley conducted the business meeting which followed the dinner with Miss Edith Clemens as secretary-treasurer . Miss Lorraine Gurba of Marathon was elected to the Board-Teachers' Relations committee. Miss Susan Stopyra, Schreiber gave the Goodwill report. Mrs. Shirley Mikus of Terrace Bay reported on her work as liason officer for the Economic Policy com- mittee. Miss Wendy McEwen, Schreiber and Miss Brenda Langille and Miss Molly Harris, of Terrace Bay were named as representatives to the First Year TERRACE BAY NEWS NOVEMBER 13, 1969 Teachers' Invitational Conference to be held on January 17th and 18th in Toronto. Others attending were Mrs. LaVaughn West, wice- president, Mrs. Doris Gerlach, and Miss Agnes Schellinberger, of Terrace Bay; Mrs. Mildred Price, principal of Rossport School; Miss Shelbie Closs, and Mrs. Glorie Miller, Schreiber and Miss Susan Gardiner and Miss Lois Gerber, of Marathon. SCHREIBER TOWN TOPICS Mrs. Tommy Whitton entertained twenty some at dinner on November 3rd in honor of her husband's 75th birthday, the guests including relatives and friends in both Schreiber and Terrace Bay. Mrs. Jack Corbett, of Fort William, who was here for the occasion, will remain to visit for a couple of weeks . Mrs. Mary McGrath is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. John Power visiting also other relations in town. Mrs. Barry Harper is holidaying in Jamaica. Mrs. Tony Zborowsky has gone to St. Johns, New- foundland to attend the funeral of her brother, Pat Byrne. Jim Boon, of Timmins, was here this week visiting his parents who have both been ill, Mrs. Boon hav- ing returned to the hospital . Mr. and Mrs. Gary Drake have returned from Winnipeg where they attended the funeral of Mrs. David Boyd, Mrs. Drake's Mother. Mary Eileen Muff, Craft Consultant of the Depart- ment of Education, Youth and Recreation Branch and Margaret Phillips, District Consultant, met with a group of women in the Catholic Parish centre, in an effort to establish a craft group in Schreiber. Mrs. Pat Cook, Mrs. Claire Power and Mrs. Flora Bryson, agreed to inquire further into the plan | of a mixed group with varied interests. Films were shown, one of a group in England making articles out of. material native to their area. Mrs. Bob Turner and Mrs. Bill Stefurak visited friends in Toronto and Clarkson, and their sons, Doug Stefurak at MacMaster University, and Bill Turner, at Western University . Miss Edna McColeman of Marquette, Mich. is | here visiting her mother, Mrs. Peter McColeman, - who is ill in Terrace Bay hospital .
