OCTOBER 23, 1969 SCHREIBER TOWN TOPICS Mr. and Mrs. Alex Power have returned from a trip east, visiting relations in Toronto, St. Cather- ines and Hamilton, where Mr. Power attended the provincial convention of the Loyal Order of the Moose, as delegate of Terrace Bay Branch #1752. Mrs. Alex Gordon and son Clyde attended the Crawford-Slater wedding in Winnipeg, while spend- ing the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. S. Pomer. Mr. and Mrs. J.G. Scott and Mrs. Russell Mc- Bride were in Hespeler to attend the funeral of Larry Siefert, husband of the former "B'dun" Scott, of Schreiber. Mrs. McBride went on to visit Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Hass in Hamilton. Mary Lynn O'Brien had an 11th birthday party to remember attended by twenty young friends and the following relations from out of town - Mr. and Mrs. Bill McDonald, Mrs. Pat McDonald, and Kelly McDonald, of Markstay, Ont. Mr. and Mrs. Sten Lif, with Hilbert and Raymond of Cochenour, and Diane McBride of Port Arthur. The big cake was made by Mrs. Con Duggan. Mrs. Emmett Holland, Geraldine McBride and Janie Duggan assisted the hostess. Spot dance winners were Sandra Richardson, Diane McBride, Shiela Souliere, Maxine Holland and Linda Ray. Spending the holiday weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Steve Petrushack were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hubelit of Sheho, Sask., Mr. and Mrs. Edward Miller, with Dwayne, Steven and Ricky of Fort William, and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hayward, and Holly, of Port Arthur, Mrs. Charlie Boon, Bernard Paradis and Mike Kurnycki are in Terrace Bay Hospital . Mr. Manuel] McCouan, Mrs. Bill Holland, Mrs. George Riley, Mrs. Milton Winters and Mrs. Don Tremblay are in the Genera! Hospital, Port Arthur. Russell O'Brien is in St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto Mr. and Mrs. Gary Drake are visiting Mrs. David Boyd, Mrs. Drake's mother, who is ill, and other relations in Winnipeg. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Cosgrove and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Campbell were in Fort William to attend the Golden Wedding anniversary party for Mr and Mrs. J.A. Maclsaac. Mrs . Dick Needham visited her mother in Kirk- land Lake last week. Bob Morris was home with Russell Nesbitt for the TERRACE BAY NEWS Mr. PAGE 13 holiday weekend .from Lakehead University. Mrs. Charlie Riley of Port Arthur is visiting Mrs. Bob Winters and other relations. Mrs. J.R Sobering of St. Vitale, Man., spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. R.G. Macadam and then they drove back to the White Shell Resort Area to join Mr. Sobering and the party enjoyed the holiday inated together. SILVER ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED Friends from Schreiber and Terrace Bay called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Stitt on October 14, the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary, with good wishes and gifts. Mrs. Jack Handei assisted in receiving and tea was poured by Mrs. R.V. Hopper, of Terrace Bay, and Mrs. Roy Kragero. The lace covered tea table, with silver appointments, was centred with a floral arrangement, the gift of Mr and Mrs. Hopper, and the anniversary cake was made by Mrs. Con. Duggan, the dining room hostess. Jack Handel was in charge of the punch bowl and serving the many callers were Mesdames Robert Weaver, of Terrace Bay, Reg Bailey, Leo Godin, Gus Krause, Robert Winters, Frank O'Driscoll and Dudley Cardiff. Prior to the evening reception the Stitt's entertain- ed relatives and old friends at a dinner in their home when messages were read from Mrs. Stitt's mother, sister and brother in England, and from relatives of Mr. Stitt in Sault Ste.Marie and Haleys, Ont. Among the many gifts-were a money tree from friends and a silver-inlaid cut glass vase from the staff of Terrace Bay Hospital where Mrs. Stitt has been a relief nurse for some years. Attending the occasion from out of town, in addit= ion to the Terrace Bay friends were Mr. Stitt's father and uncle, James Stitt of Renfrew and William Stitt of North Bay. These two enjoyed a re-union of their own with old friends since Mr. James Stitt was for many years the C.P.R. Attending the wedding, in Fort William, on Oct. 11th of Wayne Scotinski and Sherry Condie, were and Mrs. Arthur LeBlanc, Mr. and Mrs. Paul' Cebrario, Terry Condie, Rhona Godin and June Small Mrs. Cebrario was matron of honour.
