While the cynosure of all eyes was, of course, the graduating class, the new facilities also claimed some attention. Chairman of the evening was the Principal, Mr. W.W. Rowsome who introduced those occupying the new and colorful chairs on stage. He paid tribute to the retiring Board members, thanked Mrs. C. Simmer, who. was accompanist for the evening, introduced the members of the staff and said that the beautiful dec- orations used in the hall were the result of many hours of work by Carol Sadowick and her committee. The audience rose as Graduates entired the hall and remained standing during O Canada and the Invocation which was delivered by Rev. T.G. Husser Reeve W.E. The students were also recipients of the Soughton Jewllers' Award which was presented by Miss Ruth Soughton. Prior to presenting their certificates to the gradu- ation class Cathy Melynk played "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" on the, piano a song fresh in everyones' mind these days since the death of the famous actress who introduced it.
