New members enrolled were: Dave Hnatow, , R.B. Parent, Casey McBride, Malcolm McLeod, Gerard Lanthier, Robin Marshall, Fern Roulot, Marcel Maltais, and John Benko. The Ritual Team were Ed Belliveau, John Brown, Don Laporte, Bob Johnson, Gordie Calder, and Barry Willan. Out of town visitors were: Brothers - Vice Pres- ident John Brown, Port Arthur, Governor Sandy Glowacki, Fort William, Tom Hertzand, Don La- Casse, of Port Arthur, Bob Johson, Past Governor of Fort William, and Herder of the Legion of Moose John Shmanka, Marathon, accompanied by their TERRACE BAY NEWS APRIL 10, 1969 wives. See photo page 14. _-_---------- CHINA TO-DAY THEME FOR LADIES AUXILIARY China To-day was the theme for the regular month ly meeting of the Community Church Ladies Auxiliar on Monday evening. Mrs. Charlotte Slomke opened "he meeting with words of welcome and a short read= ing. Mrs. Donna Broadhurst, Acting Secretary, read the minutes of the last meeting. The Treasurer's re~ port was given by Mrs. Alice Farrow. Accounts were passed for payment. Correspondence included a thank you note from the Principal of the Terrace Bay Public School, and staff to the ladies who provided coffee and cookies at the last Open House, The Cancer Society thanked the Auxiliary for the donation. Mr. J. Brooks, on behalf of the Sunday School, thanked the Auxiliary for their part in completing the payments on the Projector, along with the C Ao ha Ts The Regional Audio Visual Depot Membership of $15.00 was passed for payment. Manse Committee Chairman Mrs. Marilyn Chisholm gave a report and recomendations on the Inventory taken at the Manse. Ways and Means Mrs. Stella Brown gave a report on the recent Fashion Show, which was highly suc- cessful and thanked everyone who had taken part in it, particularly the models. The next project will be a Home Bridge to be held April 23. Mrs. Hilda Hiebert will convene this. Sick and Visiting Convenor Mrs. Eva Haughn re- ported she had sent 5 Get Well Cards, 2 Baby cards, and 1 Sympathy card. Property Convenor Mrs. Leona Mercure stated the tables and chairs have not arrived. The Altar Committee said as soon as Spring Flowers are available they would appreciate having them donated to tha Altar. The May meeting will take place on the first Tuesday of the month so that Mr. Tong, of Hong Kong, may be our Guest Speaker. Mrs. Brooks and Mrs. Chisholm will be the lunch committee. At the June meeting, David Courtemanche, Terrace Bay Recreation Director will be the Guest Speaker. A letter from the Lakehead Choral Group sent their regrets that they - continued on page 14
