The pupils of Rossport Public School presented their teacher Mrs. M. Price with a purse of money Monday afternoon, the occasion being her birthday They served lunch. Mrsf% Bouchard made the birth- day cake and decorated it appropiately. Knitting, crocheted articles and sewing was turn- ed in at the March meeting of the Union Church Ladies Auxiliary when they met Monday evening at the Inn. President Mrs. T.F. Seppala chaired the meeting and led in prayer. The Sec. Treas. Mrs. Lenard Ibey read the minutes and presented the financial statement, which were satisfactory. It was decided not to hold any entertainment 'but prepare forthe Mother's Day tea and sale in May. Following adjournment the hostess served refresh- ments. DOG CATCHER USES CHEESE Stray dogs picked up by the local dog catcher have never had it so good. They're coaxed into captivity with sweet talk and if that doesn't work, cheese. When they are safely under wraps, the dogs get a lift to the pound in a white convertible. This new approach to the fine art of dog catching began last week when Marlene Bunton was appointed caume control officer for North Grimsby Township about 10 miles west of St. Cath- arines. The mother of four bas a wooden pole with a looped rope in the trunk of her car but she hasn't even considered using it. "Tt's for handling very cross dogs and I haven't been on the job long enough to run into that problem--but I do anticipate such trouble." i Mrs. Bunton has so far coaxed five dogs into captivity with "cheese and sweet talk."'
