JOHN BERCHMAN'?S CHURCH Vass every Monday et 7 PeMe TOWN TOPICS BURIED IN TERRACE BAY CEMETARY Funeral services for Nick Bajkiewicz who passed away suddenly in the Terrace Bay private hospital on March 2nd, were held in the Community Church on Wednesday, March 5th, with Reverend G. Husser officiating. Mr. Bajkiewicz, 54, was born in Poland, and came to Canada in 1947. He was employed by Kim- | berly Clark Co. for the past 19 years. He is survivied by his wife, Cora, a son David, Michael and Chery a sister Vera, of Grandview Manitoba, and a brother in Poland. Many beautiful floral tributes were received, and the funeral was largely attended by friends from Schreiber and Terrace Bay, as well as many of Nick's co-workers at the mill. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 223, Terrace Bay draped the casket with the Cancdian Flag and Charlie Koski, Branch president, read the Memorial Service, while mem- bers of the Legion paid their last respects . The Legion members also formed a Watch while the Church was open for those who wished to pay their repects. Interment was in Terrace Bay Cemetery. Bert Lohr sounded the Last Post. TERRACE BAY HIGH SCHOOL WINTER CARNIVAL J Last Friday's Winter Carnival can be termed as nothing but a success. Snow sculptures which the students had diligently worked on through the week | were finally judged and the results were announced during the afternoon. The days'activities began at 9.15. First the outside sports were played. Everyone enjoyed such games and races as socer, volleyball 7 egg toss, three legged race, toboggan race, tug of war and football. This year we included a race where everyone ran and this along with the rest of the mor- nings action proved interesting and fun-filled. We then had a lunch break and (cont'd on page 4)
