Wednesday evening the Five Hundred Card Club met at Mrs. Bertha Lif's home for the weekly games with Prina Gerow, Patsy Campbell and Hattie Yandon taking prizes. Lunch was served by the hostess . ALTAR SOCIETY MEETING. HELD Mrs. Wm. Schelling hosted the members of St. Berchman's Altar Soceity for their monthly meeting Thursday evening at her home. President Mrs. Eugene Gerow chaired the meeting and led in opening and closing prayers. the latter for world peace. Minutes and financial statements were moved for adoption. The secretary was advised to send cards to parishtoners in hospital. Plans for a Penny Auction were finalized with convenors named}. Recipes for fruit loaves were exchanged. It was also decided to have the church furnace overhauled as it is not operating properly. Following adjournment Mrs. Schelling served lunch and a social hour was enjoyed. President Mac Hubelit called a special meeting of the Curling Club to make arrangements to get the Round Robin games started. Membership registering is slow this year and it was decided to have Friday, the 17th as final date for registration so teams could be drawn up to begin curling on the 21st. Minutes were read by Joyce Mushqush and the fin= ancial statement presented by C.Todesco. It was noted that the fire insurance premium comes due for payment shortly. Following members were appointed to act as a draw committee and entertainment committee. They are to hold a cash bingo to raise funds for the club. Members are - Mrs. A.Todesco, J. Mushqush, E. Not only children but parents and teachers too were fascinated by the stages of development of the embryo and the final hatching of eggs to ;chicks. Some of the chicks have now been moved tb the chicken farm.
