4A TERRACE BAY NEWS ROSSPORT NEWS Mrs. Mildred Price left Friday for Sudbury due to a death in the family. Mr. & Mrs; Eugene Gerow were Lakehead visitors this week. Rev. Father Maurice of Port Arthur visited Pays Plat Mission . Misses Agnes and Joyce Mushqush have returned from Port Arthur. John Aggomamany of Longlac visited relatives here this week. i Rev. Father Cano of Schreiber said Mass here Mon- day evening. John McCauley of Fort William is visiting Alfred Ray. Peter Karpuk was in Port Arthur on business this week. Mr. & Mrs. Lester Legault and children of Terrace Bay spent the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. E. Gerow. Mrs. M.Price hosted the Five Hundred Card Club at their weekly games.at Mrs. H. Yandon's home. Prizes were won by Mrs. J. Yandon, Mrs. N. Yandon and Miss Patsy Gerow. Lunch was then served. LOCAL ROADS COMMISSION BOARD MEET The annual meeting of the Local Roads Commission Board was held at the Inn Tuesday evening. T.F. Seppala chaired the meeting. Secretary treasurer Mrs. K. Paulmert read the minutes and presented the financial statement. A discussion on putting drainage pipes in certain areas was held. A motion was made that the highway through the village is classed as B Highway and could be put on road maps. Lesley Milks, assistant to the Municipal Engineer gave a report from the Fort William office. Following were elected as Road Commissioners for the 1969 term: Chairman Toi Seppala, Chas. Todesco and Herb Le- gault. Secretary will be re-hired. Members stated that in the near future, streets of the village would be hard surfaced. ANNUAL CURLING CLUB MEETING HELD The meeting took place Sunday evening in the Curl- ing clubhouse with fourteen members present. Pres- ident Mrs. Todesco presided. Minutes were read and moved for adoption on motions of T. Yandon and C. Legault. The financial statement was presented by C. Todesco with all accounts paid and a balance on hand It was noted that several panes of glass were broken and members decided on plywood storm windows. November 28, 1968 President Mrs. Todesco announced that a supply of firewood had been purchased and made ready for use. The condition of the club room was found in good , condition. Members decided on a draw to raise funds to pay insurance when it is due in 1969. Each memb- er will try to enlist a new member. Membership fees are to remain the same as last year. Election of officers for 1968-69 are as follows: . Acting chairman was Tom Yandon with Edith Hubelit acting secretary. Retiring President - Anne Todesco, President - Mac Hubelit, Vice President - Anne Todesco, Treasurer - Chas. Todesco, Secretary - to be elected next meeting. Mrs. Todesco expressed appreciation for co-opera- tion the past term. Mrs. Edith Hubelit extended a vote of thanks to Mrs. Todesco for her leadership in the past three years.
