HEADQUARTERS @ # SPALDING HOCKEY STICKS ORNAMENTS & FIGURINES - PORTABLE RADIOS BAUER SKATES TERRACE BAY HIGH SCHOOL EVENTS COLUMN On Wednesday, October 30th, spectators lined the volleyball court of the Terrace Bay High School gymn to watch Marathon, Schreiber and Terrace Bay teams compete. The games lasted from 4 - 8 p.m. and on very short notice, the Terrace Bay students hosted a lunch for all the players. The wins were very well distributed throughout the schools. The first two games were between the girls of Schreiber and Terrace Bay. Each team won one game. The next games were between the Schreiber and Terrace Bay boys and this time Schreiber won 15-13 and Terrace Bay took the second 15 - 8. Next, Marathon girls played our girls four games and Terrace Bay overtook them in three games to win 15 - 3, 15-8 and 15-2. The Marathon girls won 15 - 4 in the last game. In the Marathon - Terrace Bay boys' games, Marathon won two games 15 - 7 and 15 - 11 then - Terrace Bay came back to wina third 15 - 10. There were tremendous plays on both sides of the net and the crowd enthusiastically cheered the players on. . Donna Rafalant. On Friday, November Ist, Geraldton was the scene of the volleyball playoffs between ihe schools of the western division of the North Shore. Schools from Terrace Bay, Schreiber, Nip-Rock and Gerald- ton competed for the girls' and boys' trophies. The Terrace Bay girls were victorious again this year. The finals with the Schreiber team was close compe- tition but our girls succeeded in defeating them two games out of three. In the past, the boys have always come close to winning, but this year we final ly received the trophy. The finals were also with , Schreiber. After two fast exciting games, the boys had won the coveted trophy. Our cheerleaders helped us to victory but we would never have won it if we didn't have such a great coach - Mr. Ferguson!
