TERRACE BAY NEWS GronTs! conNERG RECREATION BRIEFS - by David Courtemanche Crafts in Action - We have received word from The Lakehead Area Crafts Association that they are again sponsoring "Crafts in Action" on November 9th and 10th in the Provincial Room of the Prince Arthur Hotel Port Arthur. The Show will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, and on Sunday from 10.a.m.to5 p.m. There is an open invitation to Terrace Bay to participate in this show by exhibit- ing some of their crafts, and a registration fee for non members of $2 is charged (which would include a membership in this Association). If anyone is interested in either visiting or display- ing their crafts at this show, please notify the Recrea tion Office without delay, especially if you wish to display, as sufficient notice must be given. Roller Skating - Rollwer skating will be cancelled for this coming Sunday and the balance of the season. Work will be commencing to install ice. Ice Skating - We are still planning to have ice skat- ing Friday, November Ist at 7 p.m. Minor Hockey - There will be a Minor Hockey meet- ing this Wednesday, October 16th, at 7 p.m. in Meeting Room No. 1 of the Recreation Centre. All Minor Hockey executive members are requested to attend. Silk Screening Course - The silk screening course will start at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 24th, in Meeting Room No. 3 (Art Room). If you are interest- ed in knowing how to make your own Christmas cards posters, etc., plan to attend. It is a 6-week course with each session lasting 2 hours. Registration fee will be #3.00 payable in advance, which will pay for 3 lessons. The balance will be payable half way through the course. This works out to $1 per evening This course is not just for Art Club members - it is open to all persons, teenagers and adults. It is not necessary to have an art background or any experienc in drawing or silk screening. Mr. Jim Cumming, our instructor, is well qualified and has a broad back- ground of experience in this art, so all indications are that this is a well worth-while course to take. Meeting re Intermediate House League Hockey - All persons interested in playing intermediate house league hockey are requested to attend a meeting at OCTOBER 17, 1968 7.30 p.m. (E.D.T.) in meeting room no. 2 of the Recreation Centre on Thursday, October 24th. It is indicated that there may be sufficient players in our area to form an intermediate team this season.
