TERRACE BAY HIGH SCHOOL INITIATION To welcome new students to Terrace Bay High School, students held their annual initiation ceremony last Wednesday afternoon, Sep- tember 18th. This year, in- stead of the slaves wearing clothes from home, each master dressed their slaves to suit their individual tastes. The masters were given fifteen minutes to dress the initiates before they were paraded in a circle. Carlo Deleo was judged as the most comical initiate and Ludger Comeau was judged as the most orig- inal. (Bottom photo) Kangaroo Court was held and groups of initiates had a turn at entertaining the audience. All of the initiates took their punishments in the spirit they were given and everyone thoroughly enjoyed them- selves. Appropriate gifts were presented to the new teachers to welcome them to Terrace Bay High School. (Top photo) The initiation ceremony was concluded with a | cack han - Mr. E.O. RECREATION NEWS - by David Courtemanche Badminton - The Badminton season will start on ' Thursday, September 26th, at the High School Audit E orium, from 8 to 11.00 p.m. Sessions will be held on a regular basis thereafter on Thursday nights and Tuesdays, from 8.30 to 11.00 p.m. The fees. this year will be $5.00 for singles and $8.00 for couples The Badminton Club is anxious to have a good mem= | 'bership this year as they will be hosting the North | Shore Badminton Tournament later in the season. Come out and join in this sport for fun as well as physical benefit. Recreation Membership- All groups and individuals taking part in Recreational activities at the Centre are advised that there must be 100% Recreation membership in order to use the Recreation facilities free of charge. We are attempting to revive our Recreation Membership Policy as it originally was intended, and it is our intention to give all Recrea- tion members preferential registration fees on all _ future programmes and courses . Groups and associations are reminded that this Recreation membership policy must be pointed out to all persons joining their clubs. The rental rate structure for facilities at the Rec- reation Centre has been revised and copies of the revision will be distributed to all Recreation mem- bers and organizations within the next week.
