sULY 4, 1968 | Police Report - cont'd from page 14 7 - accidents investigated, the most serious resulted in death to Mrs. Agnes Herlihy, age 46 of Schrei- ber. The tragedy occurred approximately 30 miles west of Schreiber, on June 27th. Death occurred when the vehicle driven by the victim went out of control and flipped over. In addition to the Fatality, 3 persons were injured as the result of other accidents. Property damage in all accidents was approximately $6050. Officers of the Schreiber.Detachment laid a total of 16 charg- es under the Highway Traffic Act. 27 motorists issued warnings for Vehicle defects and other infractions of the Highway Traffic Act. 65 vehicles given safety checks. An interesting fact to the motoring public is that three of the accidents investigated in this area in- volved vehicles and Moose. Motorists are urged to exercise all possible caution as these animals may be encountered at any time on the Highway. This is perrculorty true during Hours of Darkness . M. Kulmatycki Miss Dianne Morrison of Sydney, .N.S., Brian Duffy's fiancee, is the guest of Mrs. P. Cebrario. U.P.S. Deol of the Schreiber High School 'staff, is taking a summer course at Queen's University . Muriel Holmes will be taking a course with the Department of Education in Toronto this summer . Anthony Speziale and Dan Bobka are taking a summer course at Lakehead University . SCHREIBER RESIDENT FATALLY INJURED Funeral services of the late Mrs. Patrick Herlihy, aged 46, whose death occured on June 27th, were conducted in St. Andrews United Church on July Ist _ by Rev. E.C. Prinselaar. Lester McCuaig was organ ist and the hymn sung was "THE LORD 1S MY SHEP- -HERD". Pall bearers were J. Findlay, T . Cox, O. Matte, B. Cox, T. Webb and G. Gauthier. Inter- ment was held in Schreiber cemetery. Mrs. Herlihy was born Agnes Thomson in Aberdeen, Scotland and was married in 1943. Mr. and Mrs. P. Herlihy came to Canada in 1945 and lived in Beardmore until 1965, when they moved to Schreiber | Mrs. Herlihy, always known as Touky, is survived by her husband and two daughters; Kathleen, at home and Maureen (Mrs. L. Mrs. Herlihy had gained a wide circle of friends in the district through her activities in curling. Sinotte presented the Knights of Columbus Award to Ted Petrus. Graduates were Claire Belliveau, Jane Kelty, | Betty Reid, Michael Brend, Rod Mercure, Patricia ~ Simmer, Joanne Brown, Jennifer McInnes, Ruth Soughton, Diane Campbell, Stephen Nickoluk, Valerie Turner, Pamela Cumming, Terry Pastor, Margaret Wallwin, Linda Hayes and Ted Petrus. The Valedictory Address was given by Ted Petrus. A presentation was made to him by Rod Mercure. The evening closed with the singing of God Save the Queen.
