VOL 11, NO 25 UNVEILING CEREMONIES SCHEDULED FOR SCHREIBER AND TERRACE BAY NEXT SATURDAY On Saturday, June 29th commencing at 11.00 a.m., an historical plaque commemorating the Glacial Terraces will be unveiled in the Centennial Park at Terrace Bay. The plaque is one of a series being erected through- out the province by the Department of Public Records and Archives, acting on the advice of the Archaeo- logical and Historic Sites Board of Ontario. Saturday's ceremony is being sponsored by the Terrace Bay Chamber of Commerce. Prof. K.C.A. Dawson of Lakehead University will represent the Archaeological and Historic Sites Board of Ontario. Others invited to take part in the ceremony include the Hon.Rene Brunelle, M.P.P., (Cochrane North), Minister of Lands and Forests;.Mr. W.E.Cavanaugh, Reeve of Terrace Bay and Mrs. J.E.Stokes, M.P.P., (Thunder Bay). The plaque will be unveiled by Dr. M.McCausland, a long time resident of Terrace Bay. The ceremony in Schreiber will start at 2.30 p.m.. Two historical plaques, one commemorating Sir Col- lingwood Schreiber and the other commemorating the Lake Superior Trek, will be unveiled at the new park site in Schreiber. After the unveiling ceremonies, the plaque commemorating the Lake Superior Trek wil be taken to its permanent site at the scenic lookout at Selim, 6 miles west of Schreiber on highway 17. Saturday's ceremonies are being sponsored by the Township of Schreiber. The superintendent of the C.P.R. station at Schreiber, Mr. J. Bromley, will act as programme chairman. Prof. K.C.A. Charlie Sitch, a valued member of Kimberly- Clark's Pipefitter crew for more than 16 years, took an early retirement on June 14th. His Kim- berly-Clark Retirement Luncheon on that day was attended by: John Ferrier, Bill Farrell, Jack Kelty, Don Boudreau, Ed Kennedy, Howard Solly, Edgar LeBlanc, Clarence Gresdal, Fred McMillan, Ross Mitchell and Fred Soughton. At the Luncheon, Charlie was presented with a colored picture of Terrace Bay and a Gold Pass which entitles him to visit any Kimberly-Clark op- eration.
