He recalled the first separate school in Terrace Bay sixteen years ago, which had been start- ed in the basement of St. Martin's Church, just two rooms with a sheet of wall board separating the rooms Now, St. Martin's is a modern structure, boasting eight rooms, with the latest equipment and teaching facilities. He had the highest praise for the teachers who had worked with him in the early years, and particularly for the staff he now has. TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 9 MOOSE LODGE HOLDS BANQUET AND BOWL- ING TOURNAMENT ON WEEKEND $e The Moose Lodge, 1752, of Terrace Bay, held an- International Banquet on Saturday night in the Moose Hall. Ably convened by Ann Kushniernyk, the dinner was truly international, with cabbage rolls, peroghy, Italina Spaghetti and meat balls, fried chicken, to name only a few of the features. Guests arrived from White River, Marathon, Schreiber, Fort William and Port Arthur, as well as Terrace Bay Some of the guests arrived in native dress, symbolic of the country of their origin. Music was supplied by a Lakehead orchestra, the Rhythym Boys, for the cokctail hour, and later for dancing. Sunday morning, there was a Moose Inter-lodge Friendship Bowling Tour nament and Breakfast. Bill Kushnieryk, Governor of the local lodge, welcomed the guests, and stated that the purpose of the dinner and the bowling tournament, was to foster a good relationship between all nationalities, and to pro- - vide fellowship among the surrounding lodges along the North Shore, from the Lakehead to White River.
