PAGE 10 TERRACE BAY NEWS MAY 30, 1968 Minor Hockey Banquet - cont'd from front page thanked all the Mothers who had so generously dona- ted salads, the Hotel Terrace and staff for their dona tion, the Masonic Lodge for free use of their hall, the Eastern Star for use of their kitchen facilities, Costa's Foodateria and Caccamo's Food Market for their contributions, the Coca Cola Company who supplied free pop for all the boys, and Cadburys for - chocolate raisins and peanuts. A special vote of thanks was given to the ladies who worked in the kitchen, arranging supper and serving it. These were Mrs. Marg Phillips, Mrs. Stella Brown, Mrs. Dolly Sitko, Mrs. June Shritt, Mrs. Eleanor Pollard, and Shirley and Norma Phillips. Nominations and election of officers for 1968-69 were taken care of by Jim Beddard. The new execu- tive is as follows: President -Tom Pollard; Vice- President - Stan Zwaresh; Secretary - Lester Legault; Treasurer - Frank Sechesky. The Board of Directors include: Steve Brend, Dave Cowan, Gordie Calder, Garth Wood, Emil Boucher, George Dashkewytch, John Graham, J. Pederson, S$. Greenwood, Mrs. Con MacDonald and Mrs. E. Kettle. Presentation of Awards then took place. The "Atoms" were presented with crests by L. Legault, and accepted by Ed Nicol. The "Mustangs", the Pee Wee House League Champions, were presented with the Cowboy Young Trophy, by L. Legault, accepted by Capt. Jimmy Osmar, with all players on the team receiving minia ture trophies. These boys were coached by Emil Boucher and Walter Sitko. The Pee Wee House League accepted crests from L. Legault, their coach es being Lloyd Paulsen, Emil Boucher and K. Turner. The Teen House League Crests were presented by Stan Zwaresh - coaches, Jon MacDonald, Mike Mallais and J. Pederson. The "Jets" of the Teen House League won the trophy presented by Stan Zwaresh. Highlights of the evening took place when the Special Awards were announced. First, the Rolly Sinotte Trophy, presented by Mr. Sinotte to the Most Valuable Player of the year to Glen Chepelsky. Reeve Cavanaugh presented the Terry Cavanaugh Memorial Trophy to Kenny Hanley, who was voted the Most Improved Player . The Pee Wee North Shore Champions were present ed with their trophy by D. Courtemanche, Recrea- tion Director. Dave Desrosiers, on behalf of Town Council, announced that they would be presenting each Champ a jacket and crest. Attending her sister, Mrs. Eleanor Pollard wore a lilac satin peau de soie gown in slim fitting style, and her headdress was a circlet of matching satin which held a bouffant bow at the back of her head. She carried a bouquet of white semi-cascade Daisy Shasta Mums . The best man was William Heinrich, brother of the groom and ushers were Donald Gresdal, brother of the bride, and William McKie. A reception was held in the evening at the Mason- ic Hall. In the receiving line were Mrs. Raymond Gaulin, close friend of the bride, who wore a beige ensemble with matching accessories and corsage of pink roses, also Mrs. Natalie Coates, the groom's aunt, who wore a beige Fortrel dress, black accessor ies and a pink rose corsage . A toast to the bride was proposed by Mr. Raymond Gaulin and the guest book was circulated by little Miss Dawn Leslie Tees. Mrs. Hugh Hamilton was dining room hostess and the three tiered wedding cake was cut by Mrs. Leo Phillips. At a family dinner held in the Terrace Bay Motor Hotel, an heirloom basket arranged with yellow and white tapers and matching flowers centered the table Out of town guests were Mrs. Natalie Coates of Port Arthur, Mr. and Mrs. M. Hagen and Miss Swetz of Nipigon, Mr. and Mrs. R. Gaulin of Red Rock; Mr. and Mrs. W. Heinrich of Atikokan, and Mr. and Mrs. A. Westgate. After a honeymoon in southern Ontario, the couple will reside in Terrace Bay. PENNY AUCTION SALE - JUNE 7th, 1968 St. Martins' Parish at 8 p.m. sponsored by the Womens' Liberal Association.
