Reeve Cavanaugh chaired the meeting with three councillors present. Clerk Hanley read the - minutes, which were adopted as read. Correspondence. included a letter from the North Western Electric Commission which Don Boudreau will attend as delegate. The Recreation Committee presented an invitation to Council to attend a dinner on April 19th, when they will play host to the Recreation Conference to be held in Terrace Bay. Reeve Cavanaugh was invit- ed to be present at the luncheon and say a few words on behalf of the town. The dinner will be held at the Terrace Bay Motor Hotel . The Recreation Committee requested permission to buy a second-hand candy bar vending machine for the mill premises. Permission was granted. Letters have been sent to various organizations in town, to ascertain if they are willing to again look after the flower beds in Centennial Park. Some re- plies have been received, in the affirmative. Mr. J. Brooks, of the Library Board, submitted fhe name of Mrs. Lois McCausland, to fill the va- cancy on the board, Council accepted the nomina- tion. A letter of resignation was received from Mr. L. Edmunds, a member of the Recreation Committee, who leaves Terrace Bay shortly, to take up new duties in Brantford, with Ontario Hydro . A letter from Pinewood Court, Home for the Aged, stated that there are 21 residents in the Home, and anyone in this area who is interested should file an application early. (Cont'd on page 8)
