TERRACE BAY NEWS APRIL 18, 1968 Following the programme, Gladys Hamilton and committee served a delicious salad luncheon which brought to a close an enjoyable evening. # On April 10th, N.G. Jean Fisher and V..G% Glorie Miller presided for their regular meeting, when plans were formulated for the Annual Spring - Tea, under the convenorship of Mrs. Elizabeth Mac- adam, on Saturday, April 20th. All members are requested to provide baking and candy for the sale t table. A draw for a special Easter Cake will be made. Mrs. Marion Neveski, District Deputy Presi- dent, from Port Arthur, will be in attendance at the tea. Degree Practice will be held following the next regular meeting on Wednesday, April 24th. Following the meeting, Rebekahs and Oddfellows and other interested guests were privileged to hear an address given by Mr. Douglas Stefurak, covering his visit to the United Nations last summer, which was sponsored by the above mentioned groups. He gave a most interesting and informative talk and felt this was aot only an educational experience, but also an extremely rewarding one. Following the per usal of pictures and a question period, the evening drew to a close with a delightful repast under the Covenorship of Mrs. Margaret Gander and her com- mittee. Alma Cenerelli was welcomed as a new member by Colleen Cosgrove, president. Instead of the usual daffodil tea, it was decided to have an evening candle-light tea on May 26, from 8 - 10, when a program will also be presented of music, skits, and monologues. Aileen Ross and Cathy Anderson vol- unteered to assist in the Parish library during May and June. Miss Erin Pattyson of the school staff accompanied the girls and they spent the week- end with her parents. on ee ee H 0 ROe eee eR ee REBEKAH NEWS Ruby Rebekah Lodge, No. 279, Schreiber, Ontar- io held its regular meeting Wednesday, February 28t with the Lodge's Past Noble Grands opening the ses- sion, with Noble Grand Jean Fisher and Vice-Grandi Glorie Miller presiding. Routine business affairs were dispatched and plans laid for the hearing of an address by Mr. Douglas Stefurak, student delegate to the United Nations. On February 28th, the Officers and Members of Ruby Lodge honoured their Past Noble Grands in re- cognition of their great services to the Order. The programme was under the Covenorship of Mrs. Lorraine Fadden, assisted by Mesdames Macadam, - Miller and Hamilton. Mrs. Fadden chaired the pro- gram, and Gladys Hamilton compiled and presented a Scroll of all Past Noble Grands. Amusing enter- tainment and a fashion show directed by Elizabeth Macadam and her committee, with Glorie Miller at the piano, were enjoyed. Special awards were pre- sented to Mrs. Agnes Sully - earliest Past Noble Grand in attendance; Mrs. Bernice Whent - latest Past Noble Grand in attendance; Mrs. Helen Wal- lace-- Past Noble Grand who has held the most of- fices; Mrs. Mavis Slater - Special Rebekah Award; Mrs. Orall Wright - Past Noble Grand travelling farthest to attend; Mrs. Helen Wallace - Past Noble Grand with most initiations during term of office. | This year, the annual Knights of Columbus Easter Ball will be held in the town hall on Friday, April 19th, at 9 p.m. and will be open to the public exepting minors. Music will be supplied by Tony and Stanley and during the dance, Reeve Fis Harness will make the draw for the colored televi- sion set.
