Schreiber ~ LIBRARY BOARD MEETS 1,360 books were borrowed during March from the Schreiber public library - the highest number ever re ported. Mrs. M.J. McGrath, was welcomed as a new member by chairman H.M. Ermel at the April meeting. The new display case has arrived, as re- ported by Secretary-Treasurer Miss Gwen Hadley. PETER CHRISTIE Mr. and Mrs. Jack Handel gave a reception on Saturday, April 6, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Christie, whose marriage took place on March 16. Tea was poured by Mrs. C. Pearson and Mrs. J. Spillane and servitors were Mesdames C. McBride of White River, B. Simon and W Miller, and the Misses Nancy Spillane and Barbara Stefurak. Mrs. C. Duggan was dining room hostess. In traffic there were 3 property damage accidents, resulting in $2,100 property damage, 9 charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act, 25 warnings issued to motorists regarding infractions of the High- way Traffic Act and Vehicle Defects, and 80 vehic- les were given Safety Checks. Terrace Bay's 20th annual bonspiel was held over the past weekend with 32 rinks participating - 20 of them from out-of-town points, including Fort William, Port Arthur, Longlac, Schreiber, Mara- thon and Kapuskasing. The program, under the Chairmanship of Dr. B. McDonald, included a buffet supper and social in the Club Lounge on Saturday evening. Music was supplied by Fred McColeman and Len Pineault.
