Schreiber - cont'd from page 10 FIGURE SKATERS PRESENT ANNUAL REVIEW An unusually large and appreciative audience at- tended the annual show of Schreiber Figure Skating Club, when 9 numbers were presented under the dir- ection of Molly Harris. The event was sanctioned by the C.F.S.A. The lovely costumes for each number, execpt the Scottish ones, were designed and made by Mrs. Penny Caccamo, Mrs. Flora Bryson, and Mrs. Mar~ lene Doig. Make-up was done by Mrs. Agnes Die- trich. Kenny Martinsen arranged the music and doubled as M.C. Mrs. Margaret Spillane was cash- ier and also sold tickets on the grocery hamper, which was won by Mrs. G. Birch, with Mrs. L.R. McCuaig making the draw. Theme of the program was "A Continental Cruise" and taking part in the various delightful numbers were Lori and Vicki Strasser, Cathy McKay, Janet Morgan, Pam Spikula, Kim Karns, Margot Davis, Julie Speziale, Cathie Doig, Susan Johnson, Linda Lidkea, Cheryl Karns, Anne and Jane Bailey, Linda Huard, Rae Sisson, Pam Winters, Brenda Cebrario, Debbie Lidkea, Debbie Cook, Darlene Fummerton, Shirley Winters, Cathy Cocks, Michelle Bedard, Holly McKay, Marilyn Searles, Donna Noonan, Tina Cebrario, Vicki Krause, Marilyn Hawke, Cindy McKay, Cheryl Karns, Maxine and Elda Holland, Doris Lehto, Jane Davis, Anne Needham, Gail Bottomley, and Susan Bromley. During intermission, four clowns - Mary Speziale, Susan Bromley, Ted Winters, and Bob Hiller, pro- vided many laughs for the crowd. Clemens, president, UNITED CHURCH WOMEN At their April meeting, the United Church women planned their annual Smorgasbord for May 12 in the town hall, with two sittings. Mrs. H. McCanna thanked the group for the use of their dishes at the public school Open House. Mrs. O. Niemi, sewing convenor, stated that another quilt had been finish- ed. Mrs. F. Fummerton volunteered to superintend the children's nursery school during morning service for the month of April. A grateful acknowledgment was received from Crossroads Centre for a donation. Mrs. B. Thrower reported the recent bake sale was thanked those who had contributed and worked. . C.G.1.T. headquarters in Port Arthur wrote asking that leaders or councillors be supplied for the Dun- can Memorial camp at Loon from July 21 to 27. Mrs. J. Crook agreed to replace Mrs. F. Macadam on the Board of Session. A letter from the Anglican Diocese asking for people to distribute and look a- fter literature supplied by them, was handed over to Rev. Prinselaar. Plans were made to cater for a family dinner party. Mrs. W. Clemens presided and Mrs. E.C. Prinselaar in charge of devotional period ke K Kk kK RK KH KKH KH KE KE RE ANGLICAN WOMEN CATER FOR BANQUETS Plans were made at the April meeting of the Ang= lican Church Women, to cater for a dinner for St. -- John Ambulance, on May 2, and a menu submitted -- in answer to a request from the Minor hockey assoc iation for a banquet on May 10. Word was received that the annual meeting of the A.C.W. of the Diocese of Algoma will be held in May in Sault Ste. Marie. Mrs. F.M, Elford, secre tary of the Algoma Diocese Board sent word that Mrs. H. Ross of Marathon has been appointed presi- dent of the Superior Deanery A.C.W. Mrs. J.D. Bryson will hostess the May meeting, and lunch at this meeting was served by Mrs. C. Sparkes and Mrs. J. Bryson. ee RR ROE ER BR TE ROKR ECR OE St. John Ambulance will hold their annual in- spection on Thursday, May 2, in the town hall at 8 p.m. with Brig. Eric Snow, Provincial Commiss- ioner as inspecting officer. The inspection will be preceded by a dinner in the St. John Church Hall. The public is cordially invited to attend. Superior Deanery girls' auxiliary won second prize in the recent festival in knitting and drama competition.
