'42Arown DWN TOPICS feb hb. The Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 223, Terrace Bay, held their regular meeting in the Legion Hall, Sunday night, with seventeen members present. In the absence of the President, Mrs. Dot Coupal, who is in the hospital, Mrs. Dodie Bougie chaired the meeting. Secretary Dot. Ballentine read the min utes of the last meeting, which were adopted as read Routine business was taken care of. A HOME Bingo is being planned for March 11 as the starting date. The proceeds will go towards a T.V. to be placed in the local hospital . Yvonne Leclair, who was in charge of the Penny Auction held last Sunday, reported that it was very successful. The door prize was won by Mrs. Minnie Woodruff . Lunch was served after the meeting by Mrs. Vi. Drexler and Mrs. Sheila Dakin. Hight light of the weekend was attending the Smorgasbord at the Ortona Legion, sponsored by the Fort William Male Choir. Noticed among the audience were Mrs Pat Buck, Mrs. Helen Spidell, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Young, and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Crandlemire. The Crandlemires send their regards to their many friends in Terrace Bay, and report they are enjoying their new home in Kenora. Sympathy is extended to Mr . Hugh Boudreau and Mrs. W. Kurylo in their secent bereavements . The Terrace Bay Library Board recently played host to Library Boards in the district - Dorion, Red Rock, Schreiber, Marathon, and Manitouwadge . This was a foundation meeting and it is possibly the | first of a yearly affair. Regional Director Allan Pepper, of Fort William, was present in an advisory capacity.
