JANUARY 18, 1968 TERRACE BAY NEWS PA Council Quotes - (Cont'd from front page) Council sincerely hopes that dog owners will take note, and not allow their dogs to run loose. Reeve Cavanaugh suggested that each councillor should take his turn being deputy Reeve, in cases of the Reeve's absence. It was decided that each Coun cillor would take three months as his term of office in that capacity. A letter was received from the Fire Marshall's Office setting out the purpose and terms of reference for survey. Council was advised by the Superintendant of the District Home for the Aged that applications are now being received. The Police Report for December stated that two charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act. One conviction, pending appearance in court. Twenty-seven occurences were investigated in Dec- ember. Nine warnings were issued under the Highwa Traffic Act and two under the Township By-laws. There were seven dogs destroyed at the request of owners due to the prevalence of sickness among dogs during the month. : Police Chief Doyle, in presenting his annual re- port for the year 1967, stated that there had been no robberies of business establishments. Thirty-nine homes had been checked, while owners had been on vacation, and no break-ins had occurred. Seventy-six special permits had been issued under the Liquor Control Act. These amounted to 12970 quarts of liquor, 16 quarts of wine, and 942 cases of beer. These were consumed at various functions, and Chief Doyle stated that they were all without incident. He spoke well of the various clubs and organization meetings throughout the year. The meeting was adjourned.
