TERRACE BAY NEWS | SCHREIBER Mr. and Mrs. Alec Power had the latter's sister Mrs Harold Ryan and her husband of Killaloe visit them en route to Winnipeg for their daughter's wedding. Mr and Mrs. Power accompanied them to Winnipeg for the wedding. Mrs. Del Condie who is leaving Schreiber shortly for a new home in Sudbury was given a surprise party in her home by a group of friends and neighbours. On behalf, Mrs. John Power presented a gift of Corning Ware with their best wishes, and a buffet lunch was enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Glad have the former's moth er Mrs. Alex Konopelky and her husband of Edmonton | Alberta, with them for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Gerow have their daughter Donna, Mrs. Ted Wainikka, and her husband and children Brad, Tracy, and Leslie of Winnipeg, Mani- toba_ with them for the Christmas vacation. Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Park of Chapleau spent Christma Christmas with their daughter Mrs. L.R. Tremblay and her family. Miss Diane Rummery is home with her parents Mr. and Mrs. J,R. Rummery for the vacation. Russell, Sharon and Mary Lynne O'Brien visited wit the Brian Duncans in Red Lake during the holidays. Tony, Jimmy and Frank Commisso flew to Italy to visit their father who is seriously ill. Visitors with the Norman McCuaigs during the holi- days were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Reid and children of Espanola, and Miss Brenda Duncan of Wawa. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Yantz of Fort William were holiday visitors with the latter's parents Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kragero. Miss Margaret Plank of Sault Ste. Marie visited with Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Pearson during the holid- ays. Corrie Eaton of Smith's Falls spent the vacation wit Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hawke.. Mrs. Eva Speers of North Bay is visiting Mr. and Mrs. George Lengyel . Bill Duncan of Wawa was the guest of Mrs. and Mr. Godfrey Birch during the Christmas vacation. Gerry and Harold Fischer were called to North Bay on the death of their father Mr. L.A. Fischer. CHRISTMAS TEA AND BAZAAR Rev. and Mrs. Arthur Chabot received guests at the Christmas tea and bazaar held by the Anglican Chruch Women in the Church Hall. Mrs. J. Corbett was the cashier. Girls in Training was conducted in St. Andrew's Unit ed Church. A medley of carols with Wendy Weaver at the organ preceded the service for which a white candle burned in each church window. Following the lighting of the centre candle and the call to worship by Linda Handel, the girls proceeded up the aisle carrying their lighted candle and singing "Joy to the World". Linda Handel led in the respon- sive reading and the scripture reading was by Nola Fummerton. Taking part in the Conversation and the prayers of intercession were Judy Richardson, Joy Ann Yates, Linda Birch, Brenda Kyrstia, and Linda Bennitz. Words from the Gospels were read by Jack Gordon. The choir was under the direction of Mrs. Alex Gordon sang The Virgin Mary Had a Baby Boy and Mary and Joseph on the Road to Bethlehem, with Lynne Drake and Debbie McCanna playing the parts of Joseph and Mary. Mrs. Bern Whent, leader, presented gifts to grad- uates Wendy Weaver and Helen Williamson. Another graduate, Sharon Riley was unable to attend. The offering was accepted by Linda Pitkanen and Roberta Milani. WHITE GIFT SUNDAY White Gift Sunday was observed by St. Andrew's United Church, Sunday School with adults and. child- | ren bringing gifts of money to be sent to Missions and for general overseas relief.
