Vol. 10 No. 46 REMEMBRANCE DAY OBSERVED IN TERRACE BAY A Remembrance Day Parade led by Parade Marshall Alphonse Theriault and members of the Royal Canad- ian Legion, Terrace Bay Branch 223 and including the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary, Guides, Brown ies, Scouts, Cubs and Catholic Girls' Club proceed- ed to the Cenotaph on Saturday, November 11 to again pay tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives for their country. Taking part in the ceremony at the cenotaph were Rev. T.G. Husser, four guards - Bruce Pelto, Kevin Mercier, Bill Brant, and Wally Fisher, color party - Joe Campbell, Heinz Schmiedchen, Jim Garriock, and Paul Coupal with Mrs. D. Bougie for the Ladies Auxiliary. Bugler, Bert Lohr sounded the Last Post and Reveille Wreaths were laid by - J. Ferrier for Kimberly- Clark Pulp & Paper Company, P. Injuries are the result of accidents. They can occur on the job or off the job - they can take away our future, our families happiness. Every- one has a stake in Safety - it is our responsibility to be safe at all times. Remember this week's safety slogan: STOP ACCIDENTS - PREVENT INJURIES TERRACE BAY HIGH SCHOOL BOARD HOLDS P UBLIC MEETING On Monday, the Terrace Bay High School Board held a pub}ic meeting for the purpose of acquaint- ing residents with details of the proposed expans- ion of the High School curiculum and facilities in Terrace Bay. Sketch plans, and an artist's render- ing of the enlarged school were on display. The Board chairman, W.J. Farrell opened the meeting and then outlined Board policy that had influenced decisions concerning the expansion program. These policies: required the Board to be alert to changing cércumstances in Secondary School education, and to act diligently on all re- commendations received from the Department of Education. Mr. Farrell referred to Department of Education recoomendations made in 1963 and 1966 for an expanded educational program in Terrace Bay. The creation of a working agreement between Sch- reiber and Terrace Bay last spring (see Page 10)
