Hubelit was hotess to members of St. Berchman's Altar Society Thursday evening when they held their monthly meeting. Following prayers and ' reading of the minutes, the treasurer presented a satisfactory financial statement. Letters and cards of thanks were read and filed. Names were drawn for the Christmas exchange gifts at the December meeting. A report was made on the Christmas Hamp- er Draw. Mrs. Felix Legault invited members to meet at her home for the December meeting. Follow- ing prayers for World Peace and adjournment, Mrs. Hubelit served lunch. The Union Church ladies auxiliary members met at Mrs. J. Spillett's home Thursday evening for their regular monthly meeting. President Mrs. Joyce Yan- don chaired the meeting and led in opening and clos- ing prayers. She welcomed teacher, Mrs. Matchett -- to the organization. Mrs' Ralph Morrill attended a Bell Telephone meet- ing at the Lakehead this week ; i DUNCAN-"O'BRIEN NUPTIALS Blue and white carnations adorned the altar of -Holy Angel's Roman Catholic Church November 4 for the marriage of Beatrice Lenore O'Brien, daughte of Mr. & Mrs. Leonard O'Brien of Schreiber, and Brian Wayne Duncan of Red Lake, son of Corporal and Mrs. William Duncan of Wawa, Ontario. Rev. J.M. Cano officiated at a morning ceremony. Soloist Donald McGuire of Demerce Centre, Que- bec was accompanied at the organ by Miss Brenda Lalonde of Schreiber. Best man was William Duncan, brother of the groom, and ushers were Paddy O'Brien, brother of the bride and David Duncan of Wawa, brother of the groom. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of peau de soie and lace. The empire bodice was fashioned of lace with scalloped neck- line and short lace sleeves. A corded band of peau de soie circled the bodice. Appliques of lace and pearls enhanced the A-line floor length skirt in front and edged the full length detachable train of peau de soie which fell from the shoulders where it was fastened by a small bow.
