Vol. 10 No. 37 KIMBERLY-CLARK SAFETY SLOGAN CONTEST Last week's Kimberly-Clark Safety Slogan Contest winners were: George Churney, Wally Shynkaryk, Dennis Bouchie, Bill Zaloski and George Rouhiainen. It's often said that a clean place is a safe place. And most of us have heard the saying ... "a place for everything and everything in its place". Certain- ly good housekeeping and safety must be partners if accidents are to be prevented. Too often, something carelessly left behind creates a hazard. So it is important to clean up after every job and frequently during a job if odds and ends are accumulating. Another point that should be underscored is contain- ed in this week's Kimberly-Clark Safety Slogan: GOOD HOUSEKEEPING IS A NEVER-ENDING JOB" M.E. This was the first lacrosse game ever played in the Arena and promises to be a coming sport in Terrace Bay. The game was much closer than the score might indicate. Manitouwadge had some older and much bigger players that were too powerful for much smaller Terrace Bay team. It might be pointed out that we have been practicing for approximately two months. However, many of the players have not been out consistently because of holidays. Manitouwadge has been playing for two years, and both teams played well . Terrace Bay will be travelling to Manitouwadge this Friday for a 7.30 p.m. game. Cars will be leaving from the Arena at 5.00 p:m. The early departure is to allow for the time difference. We are still in need of cars for the trip. If anyone can take a car load of boys to this game, please contact the Recreation Centre Office at 3542. This promises to be a much closer game as Manitouwadge will be matching the age of our team, player per player. Congratulations should go to our girl's team who put on a fine exhibition of Lacrosse during the 2nd and 3rd period of the boy's game. It was hoped they too could have gone to Manitouwadge but the lack of cars makes this impossible. To the best of our knowledge., Terrace Bay has the only girl's lacrosse team in Northern Ontario .
