Mr. & Mrs. Jim Gray (nee Etta Gerow) were honor- ed on their 25th wedding anniversary at a party held by friends in the home of Mrs. Ivor Jacomb - Mrs. Gray's sister. Mrs. Jacomb and Bill Gerow were attendants at the wedding. On behalf of their friends Mrs. Harry Costall presented a pole lamp. Attending the party were Mr. & Mrs. Innes West, Mr. & Mrs. Bill Gerow, Mr. & Mrs. Bill Lidkea, Mr. & Mrs. Bill Furlonger, Mr. & Mrs. Howard Costall of Port Arthur, George Fisher, Miss Shiela Weaver, Art Parent and Mrs. Alice Potvin. The Centennial committee will hold the entry for pictures taken during the re-union open until August 15. Pictures are to be given to either Mrs. Lester McCuaig or Mrs. Gordon McParland. - Prizes are for groups and single shots. Mr. & Mrs. D'Arcy McGuire and their family are spending their holidays in St. Joseph's Island and other points in eastern Ontario with various relatives. Mr. & Mrs. N.S. Jolicoeur with Lynn, Debra and | Tracy of Fort William visited Mr. & Mrs. Lester McCuaig and Mr. & Mrs. N. Glad this week. Linda Birch returned home with them for a hol iday. Flight Sergeant H.R. Foss, Mrs. Foss, Jeff and Lori of North Bay are visiting the Bill Weaver family. Daryl Lynn and Billie Weaver who visited Expo with the Foss family returned home with them. An exchange of honies has been made between Mrs. A. Caccamo and her son Gino. Mrs. Caccamo now resides on Quebec Street and Gino has moved into the apartment above the store. Mrs. Caccamo who has a talen t for landscaping is now busy at her new August 3, 1967 home. Visiting their parents, Mr. & Mrs. Bill Randa are daughters Norma, Mrs. Frank Vescio of Port Arthur and Beverley, Mrs. Jerry Weaver of Arcata, Cal- ifornia along with their husbands and families . Mr. & Mrs. Don McLeod and family of Sudbury are visiting Mr. & Mrs. Jack Rattray, Mrs. Mc= Leod's parents. The Bell Telephone staff will hold an At Home in honor of Mr. & Mrs. Michael Cosgrove, nee Edythe Swanton, on August 4 from 8 to 10 p.m. in the home of Mr. & Mrs. Austin Cosgrove. Sitelher (int "RENOVATION OF SCHREIBER LANDMARK An extensive renovation is being done on the old 'Corner Store' in Schreiber at a cost of $21,000. The back of the store, at one time a poolroom and later a warehouse for Spadoni Brothers, present -- owners has b een torn down and the new addition will be a furniture showroom and office rental space. It will have the first 2 x 4 blocks with 2 inch stryo- foam insulation in town, one storey and electrically heated. The former addition was built in 1886, the main store in 1885 by J.E.Walker. Despite the change of ownership, throughout the years the store continues to be known as the corner store. Originally the store combined groceries and dry goods and at one time the post office. For many yea the jeweller had also been the C.P.R. watch inspect or. Grandparents of today - kids of former years - remember the apple barrel which stood in front of the store, guarded by Jim Mudge, against the odd apple bornowed on the way to school.
